Just a short walk from the beach, El Duque teams stylish interiors with 2 big pools.
This place has plenty of style, from its smart marble lobby to its contemporary bedrooms. It also has 2 pools – one of them heated. Theme nights at the buffet restaurant keep the menu fresh.
The hotel is less than 10 minutes’ walk to the manmade, sandy beaches of Playa del Duque, and there’s a little shopping complex right next-door.

Great place to stay
After reading some reviews I wondered if we'd done the right thing booking here. However we found the place to be lovely, very clean and comfortable. The food was good, lots of choice of salads, meat and fish. The staff were all very nice, except the reception staff who could be a little abrupt. This did not spoil our stay though. I would definitely recommend this place. It is better than some 4 star hotels we've stayed in!More
Second visit to Aparthotel El Duque
Just returned from our second visit to Aparthotel El Duque, we had a great week & very happy with our stay, the food had improved quite a bit but the evening entertainment had gone slightly down hill. Our apartment was very good, very spacious & we had a huge balcony overlooking the main pool. The whole complex was kept so clean & the staff were very friendly. The location is great with all the free buses & pick ups & a very good supermarket just outside the complex. There's a market on Saturday morning held directly opposite the hotel, well worth a visit & there's plenty of bargains. We will definitely be returning.More
This aparthotel has around 230 apartments & studios and we were allocated a good size apartment with a large balcony overlooking the pool (which we had requested from First Choice) The apartment is one of the largest we have stayed in with a well fitted kitchen (NO kettle but a coffee maker instead) The lounge had a new LCD TV installed while we were there. The bedroom and bathroom were both a good size. There was a full bath and excellent shower, the bath itself is quite high to get into to have a shower and may not suit some less able folks. Generally could do with some TLC as is showing its age through lack of care from previous guests. There are a couple of pools although the pool bar at the quieter pool was not open at this time of the year and inconvenient for some carrying drinks. A lot has been said about the food. The restaurant is well organised and laid out with is a good variety of foods available and we always managed to find something hot to eat. Its difficult to keep food warm whenever we have been AI (even 5*) and really depends on how popular the food. It was replaced regularly but there is a microwave nearby if you want to use it.. The salads at lunchtime were fresh and enjoyable. Breakfast had a good selection of breads and although the bacon wasn't the crispiest, it was ok along with eggs & sausage. Annoying that the sunbeds are not unlocked until 10.00am as sometimes the sun was out at 9am and then it became cloudy. Wi-fi is good in various places but again frustrating having to log in every time you left one area (from room to pool area) or outside the complex and if you logged off. Sometimes only worked on one device whereas we both had phones. Wifi on the island is a bit hit and miss generally but never experienced any like this before. We went All inclusive and were told very positively that breakfast would be our last meal of the day, regardless of what time we left. A lot of the guests were B & B or maybe half board so perhaps this is a better reason to cut the bands off at 12pm. There was an option to purchase the band for food & drink throughout the rest of the day, but again this seemed petty as we didn't arrive until late in the evening, but left just after lunchtime. Entertainment wasn't very good in a small area near the pool bar. Generally miming to songs of some type or another, some more popular than others. Flash (Jenny) however was a lot of fun, a mime act with audience participation (generally guys with very little sense of rhythm) provided the most entertainment, All in al, this is a good complex . Its well located for the shops of Costa Adeja and the market which is just over the road Thursday and Saturday is well worth a visit. Would we go back? Probably, if you accept its only a 3* with its rules and regulations and the weather is as cold as it feels this morning.More
Food and enertainment
The apartment was excellent, large and clean. The pools were spotless although a little cold. The food and restaurant were excellent and in two weeks I never had to queue for a meal. Large variety to suit all peoples tastes and Diets especially the soups. Entertainment excellent, only 45 mins to an hour every evening, but I only saw one show repeated in a fortnight. wonderful variety of programmes. Bar excellent never had to queue for drinks and a wide variety of drinks (One comment for the first 8 days we had a Triple Sec(Quantreau) as an aperitif every evening on the 9th day we were told we had to pay for them as they were not on the A/I list?? and they only had two bottles left for the cocktails?? Weird!! One warning for customers, make sure you have plenty of Euros on arrival as it is necessary to pay a deposit of 15euros per towel for the duration and 20 euros deposit for the TV remote. plus one or two other things. The situation of the hotel is not for the elderly if they wish to go to the Beaches as the climbs up the steep hills back up to the hotel are exhaustingMore
Lovely hotel and staff
We left England on a dreary January morning, -2 degrees, landed in Tenerife in lovely 22 degrees. A short coach transfer to the El Duque in Costa Adeje. The site was very clean, the staff that booked us in were well dressed, courteous and extremely helpful. All inclusive wrist bands on, we arrived at the room, which was clean, light and spacious, with it's own balcony and a view of the pool and sea (not all rooms have this). The facilities are excellent, 2 outdoor pools, one is heated. A bar outside, and a lovely clean and modern restaurant. All the staff were professional, friendly and approachable. Nothing was too much trouble. The entertainment hit the right notes, and I found the food to be very good, better than other hotels I've stayed in. I'd be more than happy to book there again. More
