We have just returned from a 10 night stay at Hotel Jardin Tropical and have to say this is the best hotel we have stayed in in Europe. Everything from start to finish was wonderful. We were greeted with a complimentary class of cava on arrival and check in was welcoming and efficient. The staff in all departments were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Our room was lovely with firm , comfortable beds. My father celebrated his 80th birthday while we were there and although we didn't bring this to the hotels specific attention (he didn't want any fuss) his room was decorated with balloons , a complimentary bottle of cava and chocolates whilst he was out for the day. A lovely thought. The food was exceptional both for breakfast and evening meals. Everything was lovely and fresh with a lot being cooked in front of you after you decided what you wanted from a wide selection. (Steaks, fish, veal, pasta every night). Clean, free towels for sun beds each day was another bonus. We paid a little more than we usually do and have to say it was well worth it. Excellent value for money. Wonderful memories made, we will definitely be back. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANKYOU More
Nicest hotel in region we have been to
Have been to Tenerife four times now and the Adeje region is our favourite - it's not hectic and lots nice places to eat, it's not too overcrowded and it's close enough that you can easily walk or get taxi to Cristianos or Americas (depending on how fit you are ð). This is the nicest hotel we have stayed at in this region. It is clean and feels new although it's style is Moroccan - which makes it a much more interesting/cosy place compared to some of the normal boring shaped hotel blocks. The staff are friendly - esp Manuel on reception who helped us book an excursion/car hire to Teide. He was friendly and you could have a laugh with him. The pool area was very clean and didn't need repairs in corners etc like a lot of hotel pools seem to. Getting towels/beds was easy and the pool itself was lovely - and they actually had life guards watching the water a lot of the time, normally hotels have one who doesn't spend anytime actually watching the water, first time I have ever seen lifeguards at a hotel actually appear to be doing their job, which is a massive bonus if you have children on your holiday etc. The breakfast (we were B&B) was lovely - usual big spread that all the hotels have but the quality was better and the staff much more relaxed - getting breakfast can be hectic and run by staff who think they are Napoleon (bit like that at the H10 Gran Tenerife!) but it was total opposite here, staff friendly, you didn't feel rushed or like you were being ordered about etc. We were upgraded to a junior sweet (as the hotel was full) and our room was lovely. Didn't see a standard room so can't comment on what they are like. Again the room we had was clean, nothing was falling apart, no cracks/broken shower bits that you normally get - it was lovely. The only negatives about this hotel is the wifi is poor unless you are near reception - only reason that was small issue for us is we like to use trip advisor to look for restaurants etc when in room before planning out evening. The other thing was the aircon - we had a maintenance man out twice in first couple days as it was so weak and the conclusion was it was working fine (also backed up when we spoke to other guests). The max setting was like having in on a minimal setting. This wasn't a major issue but if you go there when it's their summer it could be I guess. However to summarise our experience at this hotel I have to say it was fantastic and exceeded what we hoped for. Would defo stay here againMore
Nearly Perfect, couple of niggles....
Visited this hotel March 11-18th - with my husband. First impressions upon arrival in reception area were excellent - really liked the layout and the warm welcome here, very friendly and a nice glass of wine. We were given a Junior Suite opposite the pool area, it was a stunning room and we were very pleased. After reading some reviews before we left we were a bit concerned. Very large quite stunning hotel, we really liked that it did not look like the others in the area - quite unique looking. We like that. Room - Junior Suite - Excellent - clean, bright and very roomy - lovely colours. Bathroom was large and very clean, had everything you would need. Hairdryer, double basin, shower etc and bath. If I had any niggles here it would be the towels were quite rough, need updating - quite harsh on your skin. Great t.v as well if thats what you like. Safe in the room (2 Euros per day) Fridge as well and kettle. Pool Side - plenty of sun beds around the pool, some need updating as cracking but they put mattresses on first so not a huge issue. Friendly pool staff. Life guards on duty too which you don't see often which I think is a credit to the hotel. Lovely gardens and kept well. Great views out to sea as well. Nice bar and restaurant outside, really nice. Hotel is in a great position - we loved it. Pool was lovely, little on the cold side but not too bad, nice waterfall and pretty deep too. Usual people queue for sun-beds but not an issue really as there are plenty. However this maybe harder in the summer months. Gym - Adequate enough if you like cardio, 2 x treadmills, 2 Sit-down bikes, not rpm bikes though which is a shame. This gym would tide you over I guess. Some hand-weights too - Wifi - cannot get in rooms, only seem to get it at pool side, reception which is a bit of a niggle if you want to plan to do things, really needs updating. Aircon - Pretty rubbish if honest, we had the staff out a few times, to no avail - hardly blowing like most hotels, thankfully it was March and not July/Aug. Needs addressing. We were told that is how it is, we checked with others they said the same. Restaurant - We were on a B&B basis as we like to eat out in the evening. Breakfast was very very nice, nothing to complain about, so much choice for all. We really enjoyed the food. Really lovely. Egg stations, choices of cereals - pancakes - list is endless. Great brekkie. Bar - prices on the expensive side. Cocktails were very nice. Location - perfect location in Adeje. Staff - very friendly - credit to the hotel. We met some nice people here. We will definitely return. Hopefully in September. More
A birthday I won't forget!
All I can say is what an amazing experience. I spent 4 nights at Jardin Tropical and it made my trip to Tenerife all the better! Absolutely lovely staff, expecially the ladies who cleaned my room and made a lovely Swan decoration and balloons on my bed for my birthday as well as complimentary bubbles, chocolates and a hand written card from the hotel staff! You will feel like you have landed in a tropical paradise here. The food, the pools and of course the cocktails are all devine! The only downfall was I had no wifi in my room. Only in the hotel lobby and by the pool. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to just chill out and relax. Choose a sunlounge down at the rock bar and watch the sun drop into the ocean whilst you sip on your favourite drink!More
Very good hotel, great service and pool area. The hotel stands out compared to other hotels in the area. Excellent breakfast and many restaurants at the hotel. More vegetarian options in the restaurants would be nice. Our room was a bit noisy. We woke up at 6 am every morning because of the staff talking in the corridor and a restaurant close by which is not nice once you are on holiday and in need of rest. We asked if it would be possible to change the room, they promised to check but nobody got back to it. Otherwise everything was excellent.More
