We booked this hotel through Thomson holidays a week before we arrived and was not disappointed in the choice. We booked on a bed and breakfast basis as we like to have dinner in various restaurants in the area, the breakfast in the Hotel is excellent with a good choice of both hot and cold dishes served in pleasant surroundings . We stayed in a standard room as this was all that was available at short notice and proved quite adequate, clean and tidy and well serviced. We ate dinner one evening in the beach club restaurant which was rather expensive though the food was good. The Hotel offers ample sun beds in various locations around the hotel, the jewel in the crown being the beach club positioned on the seafront. The position of the hotel is central to all bars and shopping but still offers much privacy to its guests. I would recommend this hotel and would gladly return.More
Comfortable hotel in good position
Ours was a late booking on bed and breakfast tariff. The hotel is ideally located in Costa Adeje straddling the coastal path having a main pool and also a sea pool with views over the sea. The bedroom was comfortable but dark being at a lower level at the side of the hotel. The pool view rooms would be preferable. A large cold buffet is available at breakfast but the traditional "full English" is somewhat limited. There are numerous restaurants to suit all tastes close at hand along the coastal path. The bars at the hotel offer a good choice with excellent service, although evening entertainment is limited to local musicians on the outside terrace. Overall a relaxing break, we would visit again. Booked through booking.com we found this hotel very pleasant. After losing my credit cards the hotel were more than helpful in trying to find them i.e. Taxi/airport although unsuccessful it was very much appreciated. Booking was smooth and easy and shown to our room we found it to be very pleasant. After a good nights sleep we went for breakfast which was plentiful and varied and served very politely. The appearance of the hotel and grounds was lovely and location was ideal. A 30 min stroll one way took you to the Hard Rock Cafe in playa and a 20 stroll the other way took u into adeje. The staff at the hotel were more than polite and helpful throughout our stay. However sometimes there was a slight misunderstanding at the pool restaurant (language wise) However nothing that couldn't be sorted. I would recommend this hotel and will be staying again More
New Year Break
Stayed in the hotel for 11 nights Dec/Jan, spending New Years Eve there. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay. We were allocated rooms on the 5th floor looking into the gardens but actually we could also see the ocean too which was a bonus. Rooms were functional and well maintained with daily maid service - no complaints there. Had to ask for an extra duvet after first couple of nights as it was a little chilly and this was provided quickly and without fuss. Was surprised at how extensive the hotel grounds were and we loved the Beach Club area, watching the sun go down at the edge of the ocean was lovely. We had no issues in getting sunbeds and the pool in the main part of the hotel was a nice temperature. We couldn't use the pool at the beach club Las Rocas as it was really cold. Buffet at breakfast was adequate and well organised although queues at omelette station were a little off putting. We were disappointed at the time it took each morning to find a table - you had to wander around looking for one that was free, none of the staff seemed interested in helping. Our experience of 4 star hotels is that you are taken and seated at a table rather than wandering around trying to get one. We were half board so rarely ate lunch but on the few occasions we did so, were very disappointed in the experience in the area reserved for lunch. I asked for a tuna salad to be told that this was not possible although a tuna wrap was on the menu as was a mixed side salad - how difficult would it have been put the tuna on top of the salad?? We found the staff very rigid with their customer service. It was also hit or miss whether the staff were friendly, we felt as if we were an inconvenience. On one occasion the manager tried to charge us for lunch when we explained we were not eating in the hotel that evening and he also overcharged us. However strange this may sound, we found the female members of staff much more pleasant than the male staff. In general, the staff were not friendly or interested and most could barely manage to raise a smile. One of the team at the beach bar - who appeared very busy and overworked - went so far as to tell us he did not like working there and could not wait to leave. Team seem very short staffed but as a paying guest, I do not wish to hear that from hotel staff as it does not instill much confidence in the service being provided. The manager at the evening dinner service was also very brusque and made us feel as if we were an irritation. Very real lack of customer service skills. The team in the lobby bar were the best overall I would say and the lady in the hotel shop was lovely - just a shame we only met her on our last day. Tried to book beauty treatments on 2 occasions without success - there was no effort to look at options or move things around. Used the gym a few times, very limited equipment and no staff around ever in case anyone needed guidance. I must call our a Manager called "Chefi" - we only spoke to her twice but on both occasions found her to be extremely friendly and pleasant and she took time to talk to us about various things, she took a real interest - you should hold onto this lady and use her to train the team on customer experience. Ridiculously expensive - this does not encourage you to stay in the hotel after dinner.. there is no need - you should look at what you are charging when already so much has already been paid. Back to the good stuff - fantastic location - 20 mins from Del Duque Beach and same other side to Playa. We understand that the hotel has recently been taken over so perhaps some of the issues we experienced are as a result of this however this is not acceptable given the thousands of pounds we spent for the trip. I don't think it was a 4 star experience and hope that the new team take account of the feedback and work to improve the team moving forward. Wouldn't rush back but it's not the worst we've had.More
