Hotel under renovation
Me and my wife stayed for 8 nights from 5th - 13th May. We booked the trip around two months ago, about a month before we left we were informed that parts of the hotel would be being refurbished during our stay. We made the booking through Last minute so i contacted them as i was concerned that the works might disrupt our stay, i asked why we were not informed of this ahead of booking?, and if a alternative hotel could be found as i did not much fancy going on holiday to a building site. They came back and said that there was no alternative and that the hotel ensure us that the works would not effect your stay and that they would compensate us for any disruption. Reluctantly i accepted this. On arrival at the hotel our compensation consisted of free use of the safe in the room (yes you have normally got to pay for it!), and entry into a prize draw for a free stay at the hotel. We paid extra for a sea view so i was a bit concerned as we were led to a room on one of the lower levels overlooking the pool, you could just about see the sea from the balcony if you stood on tip toes and looked right over the neighboring balcony. I went down to reception thinking there must be a mistake. I was then informed that due to the works we where located here as it should be a quieter part of the hotel away from the works. I told them on reception that this was unacceptable as i was informed that the works would not disrupt our stay. They agreed to change our room if available the next day. So rather than unpack and start to relax we had to wait for a room with a sea view to become available. The next day we where offered a room which had a sea view but was right next to the closed of hallway to the building site section of the hotel. I asked the staff will this be noisy they said no they don't start work until late. Out onto the balcony we had a nice view over the top swimming pool which was being refurbished with the accompanying smell of glass fibre which made you first question lighting a cigarette! Luckily we had quite a busy scheduled booked over the week so the banging that started each morning at 8.30am was quite a handy alarm clock! On the plus side the breakfast was good although quite busy if you got down late. The hotel has apparently got a no towels to reserve sun loungers policy, this is totally ignored and not enforced so if you want a good spot you have to get your towels out early before going to breakfast. Be warned also the drinks by the pool are very expensive we ordered a beer and a non alcoholic fruit cocktail and we where charged 9 euros. A beer is 3 euros 50 when you can walk 100 yards down the road from the hotel and have them served at 1 euro each i think its a bit of a rip off, needless to say we didn't order again from the pool bar! Seeing the price of the drinks we didn't even bother with the hotel restaurants and just ate out each night. Shame really as the hotel would probably be quite lovely when its finished, I only wish they would do the right thing and close the hotel while it is under refurbishment. Taking bookings for full price paying guests is not on in my book while works are being carried out.More
Best hotel I've stayed in Tenerife
Superb hotel. Modern and clean with lovely swimming pools. One freshwater which is not heated but very refreshing. Rooms clean and modern. Only criticism is they could do with tea and coffee making facilities, apart from that I couldn't fault it. Breakfast was superb. The biggest choice of things to choose from and good quality ingredients too. The outside bars offer fantastic views out to sea and the sunset bar offers an unrivalled view of the sunset. Playa Fanabe a 10 minute walk from the back of the hotel via security gates. Will return again.More
Stayed here for our friends wedding anniversary/ 60th birthday for 4 nights Bit of regeneration going on and rooms probably need it but the outside spaces more than make up for this Staff were excellent Food was excellent and a wide variety covered all tastes The location is great for exploring this part of the coast Would definitely come againMore
Very good service
Very enjoyable stay. Very good service. Hotel is very nice, clean, well maintained. Worth of 5 stars in my opinion. You are granted with a glass of sparkling wine upon arrival. Hotel service quality is beyond question. They'll try everything to make your stay enjoyable. More
The pool is the star of the show for us
Second visit here in a couple of years. Should one go back? We ended up in the same room (spooky or what). This time reception was not a great experience as it was before. We stood and waited while staff did "presumably more important things" then were checked in efficiently and then had the feeling she wanted to go back to the other more important things and we were in the way. To be fair we used the hotel to sleep, (room fine but getting a bit dated - shower in the bath etc), for breakfast (good selection and good service), and the pool (brilliant setting). The pool staff/lifeguards do a fantastic job of providing towels and mattresses and keeping the place looking spic and span. Saw one instance of their lifeguarding ability where their reaction was fantastic, albeit what needed rescuing was an umbrella not a person fortunately! There is so much more to the hotel that we did not use it is unfair to comment overall, it's expensive but everything we saw was good. Location is a bit on the outside of Costa Adeje but the walk to the restaurants did us good! I'd certainly return.More
