This adults-only hotel gives you a triple helping of pools, and it’s just a short walk to the beach.
This huge building is shaped like a cruise liner. On one side you’ve got the Adeje mountains and, on the other, views of the Atlantic Ocean. Within the hotel, there's a trio of pools and a buffet restaurant.
The hotel’s in an upmarket part of Costa Adeje, just a five-minute drive from the centre. And it’s a five-minute cab ride in the other direction to La Caleta, a fishing village home to bars and restaurants.

Excellent Hotel, Spotlessly Clean and Great Staff
Re-visited the Arrecas for a second consecutive year from 31st January to 14th February. To return to the same Hotel is a complement in itself but for me the Arrecas must be the best 4 Star Hotel on Tenerife. Excellent welcome and prompt registration by professional and informative staff. Our visit was our honeymoon after a December wedding and tongue in cheek I had requested " a sea View" without paying any additional charge. What a very pleasant surprise but very welcome when we opened the curtains to our balcony...a full 100% full frontal sea view. Large well equipped rooms at the Arrecas with everything needed to make your holiday. At the earliest opportunity I made myself known to my maid who looked after our room, Carmen by name, must say her work on our behalf was excellent and for this I thank her for making our holiday such a success. The food at the Arrecas is always excellent with so much choice of food on offer at both breakfast and dinner I doubt is anyone could not find the food that ensured an excellent meal. Again a word of thanks to the waiters and waitresses throughout the Arrecas all day and night long, excellent and friendly service. The pool areas at both levels are always spotlessly cleaned each day before guests choose their seating and only enhances the enjoyment of your sun bathing experience. The downsides of a stay at the Arrecas...........yes there are two that are frequently mentioned. The significant number of steps to take visitors down to the promenade and the size/quality of the bath towels. Sad to say both a true but feel that both can be ' managed' by visitors. We used our free issue pool towels as bath towels and changed every day. The steps are a bigger problem for some but not the fault/problem of the Arrecas and the frequent number of return visitors puts this issue into perspective. Would like to see more upright chairs around the swimming pools as not everyone can manage the lower bed height later in life with hip/knee problems. All in all a great Hotel to stay at in Adeje TenerifeMore
lovely relaxing break
just back from a lovely break at the Riu Arecas and can honestly say it was a good experience. The hotel has undergone a refurbishment in the last couple of years and its done to a very high standard. The whole hotel is cleaned to a very high standard both inside and outside. The rooms and beds extremely comfortable. The food was varied and cooked to a high standard. The staff were all very friendly and went the extra mile to ensure your stay was a good one.The resort itself is very nice and clean with plenty of lovely walks .All in all a lovely week with good weather, would highly recommend .More
A welcome return!!!
This is the third year running that we have stayed in this adult only hotel We booked through Thomson and seven days prior to our departure I e-mailed the hotel and requested the same room as last year. Great report when we arrived at the hotel with Marco. We had a welcoming drink of 'bucksfizz'.We were allocated the room that i had requested room i.e. a room on the ground floor where the view from the balcony gives good views of the mountains and more importantly the sea. Within five minutes the bell boy arrived with our cases and we unpacked then went out to enjoy the sun and the scenery. The hotel was full and we met the same patrons who keep returning every year at this time. The food was excellent, the waiting staff excellent and the rooms were good, clean and contained everything you could want in an hotel room. We did like the housemaids, they were very courteous and they cleaned our room whilst we were at breakfast. I left monies and other valuables around the room and apart from moving to clean nothing was touched!!. I visited the manageress to thank her for allocating our room as requested and I can only describe her as a woman who works exceedingly long hours and loves her job. Her attention to detail was beyond reproach. A truly professional lady who will go far in hotel management.. Will we stay in this hotel again, most definitely!! To conclude I want to mention a plus point - the hotel now has it's own sandy quiet area which is located parallel to the RUI Palace.Well done RUI keep up the good work.More

Value for price
Overall a good holiday. A few niggles but value for money. Bathroom good but walk in shower doesn't drain away and you are padding in water, I thought gravity took the water away so there's something amiss. Could do with new bath towels they are a little thin. Dining outdoor is a nice atmosphere but indoors is like a works canteen. Good choices in food. The Spanish restaurant is good but no change in menu the two weeks we were there. Pool areas good no shortages of sun loungers all areas clean. The Rui Palace is much better but you are paying for it.More

Visited this hotel at the beginning of February Good Points: . Hotel is modern, having been modernised in the last 18mths . Food is good, varied choice and a Spanish restaurant for a change from the buffet . Close to the seafront and promenade walks both ways . Lovely upmarket quiet area - some shops but no loud music . Bedrooms well equipped, modern with comfy beds . Bathrooms modern with large shower, magnifying mirror for make up, hairdryer and space by the basin for toiletries and makeup. . Staff very friendly and helpful . Pool areas lovely - especially the infinity pool and beach which is next to the Riu Palace on the seafront . Plenty of sunbeds always easily found one when every we wanted . Safes in the room at an additional charge . Sky news and a couple of other English channels can be watched on the flat screen TV . Excellent Wifi in the hotel, rooms and by the pools . One of the larger pools by the hotel and the infinity pool at the beach area both heated . Lovely walks both ways along the promenade - turn right and it takes you to La Calleta a lovely traditional fishing village and turn left takes you to Costa Adele . Couple of local supermarket to get any supplies you might need. Bad points: . Restaurant is very busy and more like a cafeteria, tables very close together . Reception area - more like a holding area (or bus station as I heard it called) with mainly uncomfortable bench like seating - some comfy settees for relaxing on cooler evening but not many so we were unable to sit at night with a drink and be warm. The comfortable seats are all in the entertainment area but this is a bit chilly as it is open air. . 74 steps down to the seafront. Try to get a higher floor room as some are built in the basement of the hotel - probably better to go for an upgrade when booking if possible as charges are quite high once you get there. More
