With its plum sea-and-mountain setting, the Hotel Riu Palace Tenerife showcases this Canary Island at its best.
Views don’t come much better than this hotel, with volcanic slopes to the rear and sea views to the front. And location-wise, you’ve got a little beach on the doorstep and Costa Adeje is a 20-minute stroll away.
The hotel’s curved design means lots of the rooms look out to sea. And this place had a top-to-toe refurb in July 2015.

We visited this Hotel for one week on the 6th Jan 2017. The Hotel was beautiful: Cleanliness was exceptional Staff were friendly and wanted to help you Hats off to the superb Management Team for a first glass service Rooms were spacious Restaurant was beautiful and the quality of the good was excellent Ala carte dining was also first class Pool area was spotless and well laid out An unforgettable holiday - relaxing The only downside was still we travelled with a Thomson Holidays and were most definetly not first class. The service was very poor. The coach journey from the airport to the Hotel took an astonishing two hours! Ten drop offs - this is not acceptable.More
Is it just me?
The Riu Palace is a bit like the Vicar's wife - dull but worthy! For example, the food quality is staggeringly good, and no doubt it largely caters to its audience and the selection is always good, BUT, nothing is very inspired; no 'chef's creations', and certainly nothing done with excellent ingredients to take them above 'let's just cook it and serve it'. Even the speciality restaurants are just OK, not wow! The rooms are nice and large, and if you pay enough you will get an excellent sea view, but stay well away from rooms 537 to about 541. You'll be charged the same rate as the other 'front rank' rooms, but you won't be told that they are located directly beneath the main entertainment area, where from around 8 until 11 p.m. each night the thumping row created by the third rate entertainers will thunder through your ceiling. In fairness the wonderful staff moved us within a couple of days, but where is the honesty in not being upfront about this in the first place, and expecting us to pay full price for these awful rooms. Maybe the management assume that if the guests are deaf they won't complain. It's been mentioned before, but what five star hotel charges for a room safe? And as for the entertainment, oh please, it is constantly awful. The upside of this place are the outstanding, charming staff who are always pleasant and helpful. That too of course is a reflection on the management, as well as the cleanliness of the rooms and hotel in general. Would I return? Probably, but more often if the owners and management would sort out the evening entertainment and the food that a hotel of this quality should be providing as a matter of course.More
Had fab time for New year. Staff are lovely, food totally amazing . Fantastic view over the sea. Probably more of a couples hotel, although good with kids not much for teenagers. Would definately go back well worth every pennyMore

Spent a week here in January and before traveling wanted an explanation of what to expect from the "family room" but no pictures were available! I can say I was VERY impressed, we were a husband and wife traveling with my mother, we each had a door card which lead us into our own hallway with two separate doors and of course two rooms, ours spacious, large beds with bed settee if required, beautiful bathroom with an amazingly powerful shower, my mothers room was totally self contained with a larger than single bed, bathroom, balcony etc, very spacious and very clean. All areas are spotless. The restaurant was probably the best buffet we have ever been to, staff are very friendly and always smiling, we got very special attention from TIZIANO, he was always happy, smiling and helpful, other staff that impressed were also Diego and Sabina, amazing service. Hotel entertainment was rather repetitive but we enjoyed cocktails on the outside terrace with patio heaters lit. Pools are wonderful clean with a beautiful sea view. The work on the beach didn't spoil our holiday i fact it draws the crowds as people enjoyed watching those diggers at work. We definitely will return to this spectacular hotel.More
