A trio of lake-like pools hog the limelight at this apartment complex. The beach is just a short walk away, too.
Life at the Barcelo Varadero revolves around its pools. There are 3 to choose from, all of them huge. There are 2 bars, too, and a buffet restaurant where you can try Canarian dishes as well as international fare.
The apartments are airy and bright, with glass patio doors leading out into the gardens. A 10-minute walk gets you to Playa de la Arena’s black-sand beach.

the hotel was clean comfy and very good value for money, all the staff are very hard working and helpful, particularly jonathan and richard in the animation team, and ivan in the lobby bar, and alfonso at the pool bar. hotel a little tired in places but nothing that would spoil your holiday we will happily return to this hotel.More
My self and my partner had a weeks stay here in room A404 from the 5th of march the room was comfortable with a lovely out look onto the main road looking onto the sea only downside was we couldn't get air conditioners on or maybe they didn't work? Just a bit of advice if you go out onto the balcony be careful not to slam the door shut as the door will lock and you will be locked out as we found out and had to call for help,we had a lovely stay otherwise.the food was very good but on one occasion the chicken that had been freshly cooked was pink so just take care and check all is cooked well something for everyone plenty to choose from but I wonder in peak times how they cope as breakfast and evening meals got very busy the staff were rushed off their feet at times . Great place for families lovely pools night time entertainment not the best but after a few drinks who cares.room cleaning service excellent the ladies were very polite and helpful would definitely return.More
First time review
We could not fault the hotel the room overlooked the pool area and was cleaned when we asked. The restaurant was very good and we could not fault the the quality of the food and choice for the price paid. More
Good family holiday though improvements can be made.....
We recently returned from a 7 night half board holiday at the Allegro Isora / Barcelo Varadero. Had a nice time but all in all average. Only 1 heated pool could do with another one being heated. breakfast excellent, evening meal becomes a little too much the same we ended up eating out. Plus too crammed and waiters very noisy. no air con in bedrooms only in the lounge which did not work properly. Very noisy at night we were staying in F block and trolleys etc being taken up and down the alley through the night the only quite morning was Sunday! Entertainment staff very good though I think more could be done for kids. Shame in the evening the kids dancing is on the stage outside I think it would be better on the inside stage so more people can see. Choice of drinks very good if you are staying all inclusive. Would be good if Spa dropped leaflets under your door with offers otherwise you would never know it was even there I think they could do so much more with the spa. Swimming pools need repainting as paint peeling away on flooring which made two of the pools look very dirty although they were clean they just need a paint. Nice walk from hotel right into Los Gigantes takes about an hour. We have stayed in this area about 4 times now and would go back but in all honesty I do think I would stay somewhere else. Not saying it's a bad hotel I just think more could be done to make it really special.More
