The Be Live Experience Playa la Arena nails family breaks. It’s within arm’s reach of a sandy sweep, and lines up enough sports and activities to keep things fresh every day.
This place is a hop, skip and a jump from a black-sand beach, and it only takes a couple of minutes to stroll to the waterfront. That also means top-drawer views of neighbouring La Gomera from all over the hotel.
Inside, it’s the lobby that’s the real attention-grabber. Vine-tasselled balconies and grand columns stretch out either side of a wooden seating deck, which is designed to look like the bow of an old ship.

Love this hotel
Beautiful hotel, lovely pool it so close to the beach, the reps are wonderful and the slusheis are great the only thing is that the other staff can be rude sometimes especially the bar staff and if you go the the black sand beach it is so beautiful but make sure you wear flip flops because it burns your feet More
Stayed 14 Nights Last Week June - First Week July . We Enjoyed It.
The hotel is quite a distance from the airport on the West of the island beside Los Gigantos. We arrived aprox. 10.30 pm and were very impressed with the hotel layout.Book in and got room no bother.Very clean, nice balcony view.Too late for food so had a few drinks.Good start. The standard and selection of food available is second to none.At lunch you can use the food / bar area beside the pool or go into the main buffet area. We tried both and decided its better to take a break from the hot sun and have a proper lunch in the main buffet.Proper wines , served at your table , no taps in here, nice touch.Never had any issues with the food. The pools are good. One mainly for noisy stuff and small kids, one much quiter for us adluts.Never had any issue getting beds at all. A major plus was the entertainment at night.Brilliant.Professional shows on every night, most really good. There is a lovely chilled out bar area upstairs where you can also enjoy live music and drinks until midnight.Beautiful terraced outdoor area off the bar to be enjoyed too. This hotel was perfect for us and we had a great time. For the younger crowd there is a small village and beach five minute walk downhill with a few pubs and shops .Thats it so if you want to be going out at night then DO NOT GO HERE.More
Improvements could be made
Large hotel and impressive on arrival. However, our room was not ready and had to wait 2 hours which spoilt out 1st day. Food was good to start with - then became repetitive- same thing each day with maybe one new dish Bar open until 12, however, you were given the hint to go to bed anything from 10.45 Bar service slowed down and served in plastic children's cups Not much to do in the area Room was opposite a derelict building and building site which woke us every day Clean towels every day Room not swept or mopped all the time we were there Bed not changed for the duration of our stay and was dirty with sun tan cream etc from day 2 Had 1 pillow between us Advised reception of issues and promised to fix - never did - just played daft Wifi non existentMore
Some improvements in the service standard should be done. Good for family orientated vacation. Not recommended for someone who is looking for peace and quiet. Staff not too friendly, and some of them don't speak English, which - especially at the bar - could be annoying.More
All night music
The hotel is large and the staff are very friendly. Unfortunately you have to put your towels on your sun beds before 8am to guarantee a space especially if you need more than two! The rooms are cleaned every day and comfortable. Unfortunately 3 out of the 10 nights we were kept awake by live music until around 5am!!! With young children this was not a pleasant experience and made for a miserable 24 hours!!!!More
