Aquopolis Waterpark mid-May - Oct
Under 10s get a whole section to themselves at Aquopolis, and it features a tipping bucket, climbing frame, twirly slides and splash fountains. Families can slide down the Magic Oval together – four to a dinghy, or head over to the enormous lagoon pool for a swim.
For thrill-seekers there’s Boomerang – a V-shaped slide that’ll have you ricocheting up and down the sides, or Kamikaze, a rapid-decent slide. Then there’s Splash, which has you riding on a float so you skim like a stone across the landing pool.
Aquopolis waterpark is off-site, about a 10-minute walk along the seafront. And just so you know, some of the slides may be too big for little ones.
- 140cm for the Kamikaze and Splash slides
- 120cm for the Boomerang slide
For a complete list see the Aquopolis's website. The opening times vary year to year - roughly mid-May to early October. And just so you're aware, the restaurant at the waterpark is not part of your all inclusive package.

We stayed in this hotel august 2013 with partner and 3 teenage boys, and i have to say, this is a great hotel,in a great location, and the best all inclusive i have ever had,and i have had 6 more holidays since then, but nothing matches this, the food was plentyfull, hot, snack bars 10am-11pm and plenty of choices, help yourself to beer, soft drinks, tea and coffee and cold snacks, plenty of free bottled water, ice creams, just amazing, staff were great and chatty, you have 3 resturants over 3 hotels to use, plus pools, entertainment hit and miss, but its the same where ever you go,hotel so close to portaventura, and water parks, salou just a bus ride away,we even took in barcelona football staduim and zoo on a day trip, all went to Barcelonas first home game, amazing, weather was great, overall a lovely holiday and we are going back this year 2017 in september,so must be good as dont normally go back to same hotel.More

Don't get the hype
Booked this hotel after seeing all the amazing reviews and wish we had gone somewhere else. I don't know where all the returning customers have been before that this is the best holiday ever and they keep returning. If was ok bordering on poor. I went with my husband, in laws and two kids. We stayed in two two bed apartments. The apartments themselves were run down, dirty and it was a week before they changed the bedsheets (i know this becuase i had scrathed my elbow which resulted in a wee patch of blood on the sheet high remained there doesn't the first week of our holiday). The cleaner left a small pipe of broken glass (not from our apartment!) In a pile under the bed in the master bedroom. the apartments pool was lovely and quiet when not occupied by drunken chavs. I'm not a snob by any stretch of the imagination but when you get drunken grown ups jumping into a swimming pool, landing on a 9 year old and then not even having the decency to apologise or check that she was ok says it all really.... The only redeeming features of this hotel was the food, it really was excellent, although don't expect any of the restaurant staff to even smile, let alone go the extra mile (we are tippers so it wasn't as a result of not getting a tip) the staff were clearly over worked, however they were apathetic bordering on rude. The kids enjoyed the couple of occasions they were at kids club, the evening entertainment however was horrendous, several times we ended up back at the apartment early. La pined beach is outstanding. Really clean and we had lots of fun down there. It is â¬5 for a sun lounger though so be prepared to pay that. We had a couple of days out at the water park which the kids loved. We used public transport (buses and trains) to do a trip to salou and Barcelona. Bus plana outside the hotel do day trips which are much better value compared to the first choice ones and my daughter and I went to Barcelona zoo whilst my husband took our son to Camp Nou. Great days out. Before I am accused of being negative by this review... I would like to point out that this is the first review I have left which is less than 4 stars. It was a really disappointing holiday and we won't be one of the many who return year on year.... if getting absolutely wasted on the all inclhaive booze whilst letting your kids run riot is your idea of a good holiday the you'll love it.More
Waste of money! Avoid
First trip abroad as a family. Upon arrival it took staff at least 40 minutes to check everyone in due to low staff numbers. The room was tidy but no where near a 4 star as advertised. Within our two week stay the room was cleaned about 8 times. After i complained they still didn't clean the room properly. I complained again to be told its not their problem. The entertainment was bloody awful! The kids show was so loud you couldn't hear anything anybody was saying. The adults entertainment was like an awful 70's game show. Total waste of time! Hotel 2 was run down and dirty and level 3 smelt of damp whenever it rained, unfortunately for us that was 8 days out of 14. Good points... Pack lunches for day trips were good. Local shop was right outside the complex which was very handy for getting nappies and milk. The beach was perfect, sea is warm compared to the pool! You do get 'looky looky' people but they understand no and leave you be. There is a excursion company just outside the hotel that is much better value for money than the ones first choice had offered. Alcoholic drinks avaliable to help yourself, we often took them down to the beach with us. There is a bus stop directly outside the hotel also and we often popped into Salou, it seems they hadn't been affected with the "off season". We avoided spending time at the hotel and spent much of our time on excursions, the beach and in Salou. La Pineda is a resort more suited to the OAP community. Places to see whilst here, Trip to Barcelona zoo, aquarium and the fountain lights, Salou beach front, the water park (just 10 mins from hotel) and the Friday market. The theme park Port Aventura was apparently open...you could see it from the hotel. The rides rarely went round the track and a lot of guests stated it was rather expensive and quiet. With it being so quiet they often didn't run a lot of the rides. Its a good holiday if you like low standards, but for £1500 i expect a better quality service and a better standard of hotel. Although myself and my husband thought poorly of the hotel our 2 year old daughter had a wonderful time and thats all that mattered to us. We won't be returning or recommending this hotel. More
