Disappointing...could be so much better if the staff made a little effort
The best thing about this hotel is Fahiq in the lobby bar. He is an absolute gem, brilliant customer service, friendly, attentive and a great host. Shame none of the other staff come close - what a miserable bunch they all are! The hotel is pleasant enough - good decor, beds are comfortable, rooms clean, good showers etc. Nice balcony with sea view. The ala carte restaurants are fine, however you can only go to one of these during a one week stay, so you are fairly much stuck with the main buffet restaurant which has a good selection of food, but is noisy and busy. The food is fairly repetitive, but the big downside is the lack of service. Getting a knife and fork was difficult some days. It's not possible to pay extra to eat more often in the Ala carte restaurants, which I would have been prepared to do to escape from buffet hell. In the main restaurant It is fairly much impossible to get a drink with your meal. There is a bar in the restaurant but they really don't want to serve you. There are wine dispensers which are always empty (frankly surprising since the wine is truly awful). There is squash (not juice and regularly empty) and tea and coffee, but trying to get a bottle of water with your meal is challenging. There is no table service for drinks, which given this is supposed to be five star, is a huge disappointment. Other food outlets - the patisserie is ok and has some nice cakes. The pool bar staff were unhelpful and unfriendly, the snack bar was dreadful - food cold and served buffet style. The main bar where you will find Fariq was great, provided Fariq served you - the other staff couldn't have cared less. The local alcohol is ok, except the wine - second mention of wine - I love Turkish wine, but the wine on offer here is so dreadful I wouldn't put it on my chips. No one drinks it - which says something about how awful it is. The beach is lovely, good shading, plenty of Sunbeds, sea safe, but quite shallow. The pools look fine, the main pool was very noisy, the quieter pool lacked chairs! Free Wifi, including on beach, which is a bonus. Difficult to get information from the reception staff - most can't speak any English, which makes communications a challenge. Trying to find out simple information such as "how do I book an ala carte restaurant?" or "when are the restaurants open?" "Could I change some money?" was a major challenge. The hotel itself has real potential, if the staff cared about the guests, until they do the hotel will be a disappointment. More
Just returned from this hotel. Beautiful hotel, friendly staff especially the waiter in the bar area. Some minor problems with the room, but, did not affect the overall holiday experience. My biggest concern is that the hotel advertises an 'adult only' pool, and to be honest that is one of the reasons we booked, as we wanted a relaxing holiday. Unfortunately the pool was overtaken by children daily. I have children/grand children, and in all honesty there are plenty of pools for the kids, and so it's reasonable that the adults can have their own space. We complained both to reps and the hotel but it didn't make any difference, which was very disappointing. So be ready for disappointment if you want to relax... child free! More
Will go again.
I have stayed in many resorts throughout Turkey and was very happy with all of them. As far as being beautiful, Palm Wings Ephesus wins. They have some really fantastic staff working there which made the holiday more memorable and much more enjoyable. Top marks goes to Asst.General Manager: Bülent Menekşe. He went out of his way to sort things out for us. The apartments for families were spacious and lovely. The gardens and pools are beautiful. They have 24hr coffee docks in the reception/lobby and the decor itself is stunning. I have mentioned several things to the managers here which I think would enhance their resort and I absolutely believe they will genuinely take on board my suggestions. Overall, you can't go wrong in booking this resort. It's a beautiful wonderful beach resort.More
I wouldn't recommend this. There's plenty better places
It's probably the first time I'm ever reviewing a property I haven't left yet but I doubt my opinion will change in any way. First off, there's just one or two staff members who can put together a proper sentence in English. With the hotel 80% empty I couldn't have a room that wasn't right next door to our friends, despite each having made their own individual reservation. They've got a few nice pools. There's a '16 or older' pool that's full of 10 year olds. There's a waterslide pool that's almost always nice and warm but it's only open 5 hours a day, a kiddy pool I have nothing to say about and a larger pool where they do aerobics and studf. The food is good, no complains here. Regardless of your tastes in food you'll be able to find something decent to eat at any time. When it comes to the bars, though, much like other turkish all-inclusive hotels, they pretty much suck. The bar is understaffed which makes 'service with a smile' a long-lost dream. The alcohol is exclusively of the local variety and isn't really up to par. Softdrink varieties are few and not that interesting. What disturbed me the most is that the rooms are not 5 star rooms by any means. Even by turkish standards I couldn't call this anything more than a 3 star hotel. 4 is pushing it. To sum it up, decent food, appalling rooms, mostly unusable pools and very little english.More
Super Holiday yet again
Just returned from Palm Wings Ephesus Kusadasi having had the best 2 weeks. 3rd time here and can't fault it. Where do i start hotel is spotless everywhere form lobby to your room and all around pool areas. They have a slide pool which my lad loved children's play pool relax pool for those who want peace and quiet plus 2 other large pools. For those beach lovers straight out of door and on beach within a minute. If you want pizza and chicken ice cream etc restaurant near beach is one for you. Main restaurant run by Oktay and the crew is super I'm a fussy eater but found something every day. The staff were fantastic they could not do enough for you. Memet day bar manager and the crazy gang (you know who you are) were super known Memet for 8 years now great guy. Special mention to Turgut night bar manager and all his staff thanks for a great 2 weeks this guy could not do enough for you. Hotel is about 25 mins on bus to centre or if you prefer which we did 10 mins in taxi for 35tl. Adaland Water Park and Aqua Fantasia are 5 mins away. Overall absolutely super holiday yet again so much so we've just booked again for August. More
