Can I carry larger items on board?

If you have larger items that you need to travel with, such as diving equipment or a musical instrument, please call us before you fly. We’ll attempt to secure carriage, but will need to check for available space. Not all airlines will accept carriage.

Will I need to pay extra?

Carriage of larger items will be subject to an added charge and are subject to weight/space restrictions (except wheelchairs and infant pushchairs). Please check to see if your item is listed below and call Customer Support on 1850 94 61 64 (Republic of Ireland) or 028 90 389 387 (Northern Ireland) at least four days in advance to book. It is recommended that you call and check if the restrictions have been updated/changes as they many vary on different airlines. We recommend taking out separate insurance for all larger items and sports equipment.

You'll need to pay an extra charge to check in larger items, such as:

Golf clubs
Bicycles
Surfboards/Windsurfers/Kitesurfers/Paragliders/Canoes
Snow skis, Snowboards

Dinghies and musical instruments are charged as excess baggage - note: musical instruments must be checked into hold unless they meet hand baggage guidelines.

Diving Equipment is charged as excess baggage - on production of diving certificate, travellers can recieve 5kg free of charge

Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs are carried free of charge and not be included in your baggage allowance. They must be carried in the hold and collected in baggage reclaim. Please make sure your wheelchair is adequately insured before travelling.
