The Costa Dorada, or Golden Coast, takes up where the Costa Brava leaves off. It runs from Blanes past the main city of Barcelona and on south to Tarragona. Catalonia is the dominant culture of the region, and you'll discover traditional local customs existing alongside all the modern amenities. The Costa Dorada has a combination of magnificent beaches and beautiful mountain scenery, which makes this one of the best holiday areas in Spain, and with the added charm of Barcelona, you'll have all the ingredients of an unforgettable holiday.

Browse the side streets of Sitges and explore the variety of shops at Salou. For real shopaholics, a trip to Barcelona is a must and the thriving port of Tarragona boasts modern shopping complexes and designer boutiques.

Salou offers an exciting selection of nightlife, including many contemporary outdoor bars, late night clubs and street side restaurants. Alternatively, La Pineda offers a quieter, more family orientated scene. If you really want excitement, head into Barcelona and soak up the city's atmosphere or, for something a little cosmopolitan, try the restaurants along Tarragona's Rambla Nova.
