Popular Majorca offers a dramatic range of scenery from the chain of mountains which run across the west to beautiful sandy beaches with a backdrop of spectacular cliffs. Visit the capital, Palma, with majestic Bellver Castle, a splendid Gothic cathedral and an abundance of shops. Drive into the countryside and you will see a Majorca very few imagine exists, village markets, bird sanctuaries, idyllic coves, deep caves and pine scented mountains. Throughout Majorca there are numerous, excellent restaurants serving a wide variety of Spanish cuisine and traditional local dishes.

You'll have your choice of restaurants serving Majorcan specialities... try Lechona (roast suckling pig), Tumbet (aubergines, peppers, potatoes and tomatoes fried in olive oil), or the world-famous Paella (seafood, meat and vegetables and rice). Plenty of simple good value restaurants and fish restaurants too.
Shopping
In resorts, with local exceptions: low season 9:00 to 13:30 and 16:00 to 19:30 Monday to Friday, closed half day Saturday and all day Sunday. High season, 9:30 to 13:30, 16:00 to late (varies) with many shops in resort areas open Sundays.
Open-air markets are the perfect place to observe daily Majorcan life, take photos and bargain for souvenirs. Taxis
A 24-hour taxi service is available at all resorts and can be ordered by phone from reception. Maximum number of passengers per taxi is four. Prices are set in all resorts (except Arenal) and are shown on a board at the taxi rank or on a card kept by the driver in the taxi. Supplements are charged after midnight.
