You’re within walking distance of Faliraki’s town centre and beach here – and back at base you’ve got a full-blown waterpark and a massive pool.
It’s no surprise this place has bagged a TripAdvisor certificate of excellence – not only has it got its own waterpark, but there’s also a huge pool, 2 restaurants, and a jam-packed entertainment line-up.
When it comes to location, the Sun Palace is on to a winner. Faliraki’s sandy beach is only 10 minutes’ stroll away, and it’s the same to the town’s bars and restaurants.

Nice staff, nice area but very low budget hotel.
Booked this holiday through Thompson who had lovely pictures in their brochure and sold it as being 4*- yes it is 4* according to trip advisor reviews though not sure how. We knew when booking this holiday that it was a budget hotel, what could we expect from the price. I read the reviews before going and there was such a wide range, I was worried about what to expect. I think I worked myself up so much that my first impressions were better than expected. We arrived at the hotel at 2:30 pm went straight to the rooms, they were clean. Everywhere was clean but a bit dated (apparently though our block had had a revamp). We were in room 251 in the main building facing the pool. Unfortunately the walls are very thin and we had an extremely loud neighbour who we could hear snoring- all night. Complained to reception the next day who were unhelpful and told us next time we needed to complain whilst it was happening...so we did the next night and the response was 'OK' and they hung up. So we had a few sleepless nights. Unfortunately also the corridor is tiled so you can hear all the footsteps and chatting echoing through the night. Also entertainment is glaringly loud until 11pm which is OK as does stop at this time. The hotel in itself is very clean everywhere- cleaning ladies do a fantastic job! Waterpark- great as it was included in the price, wouldn't pay the 22 euros a day expected for it by outside guests though. If you want to use the lazy river buy your own ring- they only had about 10. Food was better in the waterpark most days, however the pizza is not to the standard i was expecting from all the raving reviews! Food- Themed nights were on three times a week apparently, however you couldn't really tell. The food was mainly cold- even the 'hot' food. Somethings on there were quite tasty but mostly bland and catered for easter europeans. Also do be prepared for some wonderful sights of people eating breakfast lunch and tea in their swimwear. You do get a ticket for one use at the a la carte- don't bother. This is the same food that's in the main restaurant but it's served to you instead.... Drinks- not the best cocktails going, very syrupy but you get what you pay for. Bar staff very nice especially the gentleman on during the day. Bus- You can get a bus into rhodes town from across the road outside of the hotel for 2.40 each. The air con is on and it takes about 30 mins. We did use this in an evening also- probably not recommended as this bus ride was terrible and the driver was rude. Supermarket- don't use the one on site as it's very overpriced. Cross the road outside of the hotel and take the first road right which goes down to the beach and you will find a quaint little shop which has everything you need and the owners are lovely. Excursions- We ventured out on our own but the shop over the road had great prices on these! Thompsons were a lot more expensive. Entertainment- this was OK, the staff work hard throughout the day entertaining kids. Maybe cater more to the adults? Best night was quiz night. 10 min walk into falaraki and also a 10 min walk to the beach so fab if its location you're after. However the food lets it down, unfortunately made me unwell and cost me 200 euros for a doctor.More

Does what it says on the tin
If you're looking for a cheap and cheerful hols with pool, water park, great staff, clean rooms and good choice of food then sun palace is your place. The old town of Rhodes is a short bus trip away and the local shops of faliraki are a short stroll away, myself my wife and two children ( aged 11 and 9 ) would highly recommend, please ignore the negative reviews More
Great holiday and hotel.
Me and my family have just returned from our 1 week stay here and I'm not sure where the negative reviews come from?!?! The hotel is clean, the room is clean I didn't see one bug or fly in our room and I sat with the balcony doors open at night so I could hear my daughter. From our room you couldn't hear the entertainment and we were in the main building above reception, I think the only rooms that could hear it would be the ones facing the pool. The entertainment was good lots for the kids to do and the staff were always trying to get everyone involved. The staff are super friendly. The barman will remember your name and is always smiling, the entertainment staff always say hello and are pleasant and the restaurant staff are polite. The pools are great! The main pools didn't get too busy while we were there in early September and the water was so refreshing! The pool areas were clean and tidy. Sometimes it was hard to find a bed if you turned up mid morning/ afternoon but if you wanted a full day at the pool you had no issues. The water park was ace and the food there was really good. We missed breakfast at the main hotel one day and we were pleasantly surprised to find them still serving it at the park. The rides are fun and the lazy river is lovely. The food is good. As with all all inclusives it would probably become repetitive after a week but no complaints here. Yes breakfast is always the same but there's lots to pick and breakfast isn't really something you can change too much. The themed nights were fine too and if you're a picky eater there is always pizza and pasta. The only downside to this hotel is the cocktails which are just fizzy pop and syrup flavours this being said I still had a few and they don't taste horrid but can give you some heartburn. All in all we had a lovely holiday and would go back. More
Not even for free!
Well, on the positive side, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. That's about it really. The hotel was very basic, the food was awful, bland and overlooked. The so called Greek dishes were no where near the taste a Greek dish should be. After two days we ended up going out for food. The worse part was the guests. I would describe the ambiance as that of the series Benidorm. People coming into the dining area in their swimming trunks being very loud and without much etiquette. Never again More
we were in this hotel in 2015 october. we lived in a new building near small swimming pool. the room was big and clean, with extra bed, but we were 2 people. the food was perfect, a lot of food to choose from. the hotel is not near the sea, but we even did not go to the sea, hotel territory was perfect. you can rent a car straight in the hotel.More
