Smiles with No Substance
We recently stayed at the Hard Rock Cancun for 4 days, and there were elements that were very enjoyable and areas of tremendous shortfall. The very high rating is very misleading as if you're expecting a 5 star experience, this is NOT it! Let's start with what they do well. The staff are very friendly and try and be helpful. The Hard Rock has food and drinks everywhere, and outside of peak times, it is very accessible. There is a continual schedule of activities that are entertaining and upbeat. The spa is solid and the gym is excellent. Finally, the location on the beach is great and the beach is absolutely gorgeous! However, on the other hand, most of our interactions with the front desk were very disappointing. They didn't have our reservation, and even when they did, they didn't understand what type of room and membership we had. They gave no instructions on how the all-inclusive system worked and misled us on how many resort credits we actually had. The result was getting up early to correct their mistakes. Housekeeping was another disaster. There was a door next door that literally was slamming shut every 5-10 minutes from 6:30am until 6:30pm under the idea that the room was being cleaned. This is a party hotel, so being awoken every day from 6:30am was totally unacceptable and not addressed despite repeated calls to the front desk and conversations with housekeeping. The rooms are nice, but need updating. The hallways and rooms smell of must (it is a humid place, but this was beyond that). The restaurants have attentive service, but the sommeliers and servers really have no clue about the wine and food they are serving. The food is below average and the wine choices were incredibly bad. Mixed drink choices were fine, but if you wanted a bad wine, it would literally cost you $100-300 bottle and you can't buy them by the glass. In the end, this is an all-inclusive place with your typical disappointing food and untrained servers. Again, this is NOT a 5 star hotel!More
Went away for a week with my partner. We were blown away before we stepped through the door! The staff are SO friendly and attentive. We were upgraded for free and enjoyed the VIP experience and "Rock Royalty" which we would happily pay for in the future! To name a few July, Jhoe, Adofonzo (the Beegees) and the young lad cleaning round the pool EVERYDAY and all day. Such lovely staff made our time there so special even working 7 days a week! Stunning rooms, stunning views, beautiful beach, lovely pools! Food and drink is fabulous for all inclusive especially the in room mini bar and 24 hour room service. Caio is the best restaurant followed by Zen. Ask for a Bob Marley, you won't be disappointed and make sure you try the 1800 tequila! Entertainment is good and the theatre is cool. The bar area is great with seating, food and pool tables. The memorabilia hanging around is wicked so fun complemented by a varied and great playlist. Foam party is worth a visit don't miss out! We will DEFINITELY be returning. Thank you for our rock star experience Hard Rock! 🤘🏼More

Anniversary trip 2017!
Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a nice, cool cucumber towel and our choice of drinks. The drive up is beautiful, lined with palm trees and lush foliage. The hotel staff was very accommodating, almost too accommodating (but that's better than not caring at all). We had the all inclusive package and had our choice of the 5 main restaurants: Ciao (Italian) Zen (Hibachi) Ipanema (brazilin steakhouse) Frida (Mexican), the Market (buffet). We loved the market buffet and Frida. We didn't care for Ipanema. It's supposed to be comparable to Fogo de Chao but it has nothing on Fogo. The meat was thick, bland, and gross. The service was excellent and we loved the grilled cinnamon pineapple, but didn't care for the cuts. Also, Ciao was very basic. We didn't get to try Zen but would have loved to. Besides that, they have additional spots by the pool for hamburgers, tacos, and pizza. Throughout the bar area, you will find awesome pastries at all hours (so yummy!) The rooms was very nice (very humid though) and overlooked the gorgeous crystal clear ocean and pool. We went Sept 15-19 so there was not a crazy party atmosphere (thank God!). It was perfect. One thing to keep in mind, they are all about those hotel "credits." We had $1,500 in hotel credits for the anniversary special. They will call your room, or approach you while you're downstairs and remind your frequently about stopping by to plan your credits which you can use towards the spa, adventures, wine, etc. But beware. They credits don't come without a hitch. You have to pay the "tax" on everything. For instance, I got an 80 minute deep tissue massage which was 240 credits and then they bill around $60 to your room. I don't recommend the deep tissue, mine was very lack luster. If you want to use the credits towards an adventure, it's the same thing. They will use a certain amount of credits and bill the tax to your room. I will say that they are very accommodating here and they are very nice. Pushiness aside, they want your stay to be amazing since their economy thrives on tourism. We really don't have any complaint about the actual hotel. The room was always clean, the all inclusive package gave us free stocked in room food and drinks and room service. There are so many things to do in Cancun. You can pretty much book downstairs for any event. We walked out on the ocean from the hotel and did parasailing with no problem. We booked the whale shark diving, snorkeling, dolphin and aquarium experience with no problem. There are a couple gifts shops with typical Hard Rock gear that you'd expect. The pool is very large and really nice, there are plenty of staff coming around to make sure you never run out of food or drink, there are 2 swim up bars for food and drinks. The spa is located right by the pool if you have any interest. Overall, an very nice, very relaxing time with little to no complaints! More

Great Service but the food and liquor/wine could be improved.
The resort was overall nice and the room was comfortable. Rodger Diaz at the pool worked very hard to keep us happy. The two things the hotel could improve on is the food and the liquor/wine. Breakfast was good but lunch and dinner could be better. The one good dinner we had was at the Asian grill. The rest of the restaurants for dinner were not good. You have to watch out on the liquor too. The standard vodka tastes like plastic and the wine was bad.More
Simply amazing, beautiful hotel. Good food. Room are super , loved the view of the ocean sleeping to the sound of the ocean. At night they have good shows at the theater and after that it gets really good at the main bar they have live music you won't be bored trust me. This hotel it's a most!!!!More
