We were greeted with cool flannels and and a sparkly drink offered by friendly, welcoming staff. Check in was quick with a good explanation to help us locate things in our room. Our cases were delivered within 10 minutes. the room was large including a king sized bed, a single bed and an arm chair which made into a single bed- more than enough for the 2 of us! The mini fridge was well stock as were the tea making facilities. The bathroom was lovely with a bath and rainfall shower. I had a problem with this as the bath was quite high to climb into and out of. I suppose we could have asked for a different room but we loved the location so chose not to bother. Our balcony was at the front of the hotel so we overlooked the road, scrubland (with goats, horses and dogs as well as birds of prey to entertain us) and the mountains which were constantly covered in a heat haze- fabulous. We loved sitting there at the end of the day as well as at night before going to bed. The rooms were kept lovely and clean although sometimes this was done a bit late in the day for us. There is a switch you can press to request a room clean but didn't seem to make a difference. The cleaners work so hard that we didn't find it a problem. The hotels grounds are stunning with a choice of pools, bars and seating areas. We went to the adult pool first and managed to find beds there but many were 'saved' early on. Next day we went to a family pool and found this to be loads better- plenty of sunbeds and the pool was much bigger with a choice of slope or steps to use. After a few days we moved to the next family pool and found this to be even better. Loads of sunbeds free all day (we were in September). A few children around but these were mostly under fives - in the main it was adults around the pool. There's a constant supply of towels so you can have as many as you like- no need for towels tickets here. Bottled water was available from early on at the pool bars- even before they opened. We thought the buffet restaurant was brilliant with an amazing amount of food which was themed and changed from day to day. Definitely go the the gala nights - loads of large prawns, mussels and salmon as well as joints of beef and lamb. Service here varied. At breakfast we sat outside and it was pretty much help yourself to coffee. There were plenty of staff who all looked busy but never offered a coffee- apart from one girl in our second week who took time out to greet us and sometimes offered us a drink. On an evening we ate inside in the adult area where staff were very attentive- welcomed us in and provided drinks quickly. Tables were cleared quickly. The Patisserie was a must for us- for elevenses as well as for an afternoon chill. Plenty of cakes, biscuits, sandwiches and ice cream. Previous comments spoke of the young man who served there being miserable. I agree he gives that first impression but he has a quite dry humour and i found him amusing - especially when he tries to show off and does it wrong. All in all we found the staff there lovely and the lattes were good too. At night there were plenty of bars to choose from- the lobby bar was my least favourite, it was very echo-ey so we couldn't hear each other. i found the seating against the walls very uncomfortable too so we gave it a miss. Our favourite place was the bar at the adult pool. Staff were great and remembered our drinks. The entertainment team work extremely hard. We are not usually bothered with shows but Sensatori make it worth a look. The resident team are really good. I have two grumbles :- access from the pool bar is down concrete steps or a long ramp. Once you are seated in the outdoor theatre (which is ace) you have a very limited choice of drinks. Everything is in plastic (which I understand) but you can't get a coffee or gin and tonic. The result is that many go and get their own from the pool bar which sort of defeats the health and safety aspect as you have a lot of guests walking round with glass. 2. Sensatori fly in acts from the UK.. They are brilliant- apart from the Lionel Richie act. He had a really good voice but he kept talking in english/ spanish then saying 'oh we're not in Ibiza- that was last week'. He appeared to be drunk. It's the only time we saw about a quarter of the audience walk out. He was the talk of the pool next day but not for good reasons. The hotel itself is isolated but we chose to go to Fethyhe by boat which goes from a jetty on the hotel beach. It was £15 per person for the return trip and was well worth it. the boat was lovely and they didn't over crowd it- well worth doing. Thomson (sorry Tui) reps are available all day every day and do a good job to make sure your holiday goes smoothly. We had a complaint which was dealt with well. All in all this was a fabulous place for a holiday and yes, we will be back
We had an amazing holiday at the Sensatori hotel. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. They all really added to our experience. The food was lovely and a lot of choice, we ate in every restaurant and our personal favourites were wok wok and Veradello. The beach party was pretty impressive and definitely rcommmend going....food and entertainment makes for a good night! The room was clean and spacious with a daily stocked minibar. We mainly stayed around the beach rather than the pool as we prefer the beach. We never struggled for a sunbed and someone was always close to hand if we needed help with a parasol. Louis and Samuel were very friendly and ensured we had regular drinks, they were fantastic! You can use the Bali beds for free however we didn't use them as they were much hotter than your regular subbed as limited the breeze. We did the Caribbean cruise trip which we would thoroughly recommend! Definitely a treasured memory! We stayed here 9/9/17 - 19/9/17 (right between hurricane Irma and Maria) and have got to say a huge thank you to all the staff as they all worked so hard to get the hotel functioning normally prior to our arrival. We couldn't tell there had just been a hurricane, apart from less water in the pools for the first two days while they filled them. So if you're looking for a hotel to wind down and recharge your batteries, sensatori is definitely the place for you.
It was awesome. We are just back from Punta Cana and loved it. We went during hurricane season which looking back was not the best idea. We were evacuated due to Hurricane Maria but apart from that .... The food was amazing with a huge choice of restaurants. Plenty bars too and plenty evening entertainment. We had a premium room and could not fault it. Block 9, sea views, balcony. Maid service was daily and very good. Beach very clean, plenty sunbeds and cabanas. Our Beach Butler, Juan, was excellent and took really good care of us. Plenty sunbeds around the pool too. Fresh towels when needed from the towel bar. Can't comment on the spa as we did not use it this time. Even though we were evacuated, Sensatori staff took really good care of us. Everyone was great, very organised and efficient. I will definitely rebook.
Myself and partner visited Aphrodite Hills Resort this month and absolutely loved it! The food was exceptional, particularly the a la carte restaurants and the staff were amazing, they can’t do enough for you. Every morning we sat in the adults only section for breakfast and Inessa made sure we were well looked after, always with a smile on her face. Had no problem getting sunbeds in the morning and had a constant stream of pina coladas bought to us around the pool thanks to the wonderful pool bar staff! The room was lovely, huge balcony and the bathroom was incredible. Bed was one of the most comfortable beds we’ve slept in! The small touches every night like leaving chocolates on our pillows was nice ! We tried to get our room for a late checkout but the hotel was so busy it wasn’t possible, but the shower facilities by the gym and indoor pool were really good so in end we were glad we saved the extra euros! We will definitely be returning to Aphrodite Hills and would recommend to anyone who is thinking of going there! For any adults worried about it not being adult only hotel I would say do not let this put you off. There is an option for adult only area for brekkie and adult only pool - we hardly noticed the kids that were in the hotel.
Sensitori hotel 3☆ We came to sensatori azul Mexico for 2weeks. Was one of the worst hotels I've been too! My last review got 1000 readers so if that many people read this and decide to book elsewhere then mabey these hotels will book there ides up! There are good and bad points but the bad extremely outweigh the good. We stayed in the adult section of the hotel. Absolute Nightmare. The smell is unreal. Smells like sewage( mens urinil). The water from the tap and the shower smells really bad too.. You have to brush your teeth with bottled water. We requested to be moved room, but after speaking to other guest we were told they all had the same problem. Americans..... on wedding party's. Up to 20 in a group. Shouting so loud and playing ball games in the pool all day. Staff would ask them to keep it down. Who were egnored. After a few times they were removed from the pool. They would all go back to one room an party even louder. If you want any peace and quite on a holiday then don't book here. God help you if you go the bar for a drink of an evening and they are there!! Next the rooms. Not good at all. This is our 2nd time in Mexico. In a 5☆ hotel. This is not a 5☆ hotel. There are no spirts in the rooms just a few beers. So if you would like to have a drink before you go out or when you return to your room. Then this is not possible. I rang reception as I was shocked. We were celebrating our engagement. I said we would like to have a drink on the balcony. What should we do. The receptionist told me we could buy a bottle, cheapest starting at $50. All inclusive... what a joke. Next the Food!!!! Really good!! I have no complaints. The house wine okay. The waiter service. Good. Le cheque.... excellent. Entertainment ok. You get 1hr each night. 9.30 until 10.00pm. Then there's a chilled out area with a bit of relaxing live music on until 11.00pm. After that it's either the club or back to your room for a water. The TVs are really old and not watchable(check pictures) 2 channels in English. Air-conditioning. In lobby and restaurants none existent and if it is on there will be water dripping on your table from the condensation. We had this in 2 resturants. Any excursions cost 10 times more if you stay in azul sensitori. No shade, adult pool beds have no umbrella so if you want a bit of shade then back to the room for you. I would much prefer that the hotel or Thomson offered us some small amount of compensation as we paid a lot of money to stay in a 5 star and we're put up in a 3.
